PLAST4FUTURE - Injection moulding production technology for multi-functional nano-structured plastic components enabled by Nano Imprint Lithography

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the corporation of Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe and University Karlsruhe, provides research and education. Part of the RTD program is imbedded in the superordinate program structure of the Herrmann von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres in Germany in the field of Key Technologies.

The Nano- and Microsystem program at KIT aims at developing application-tailored solutions at the interface of microsystem engineering and nanotechnology giving major impulses to technical innovations in a variety of industrial sectors. KIT is the worldwide leading institute in the so called LIGA process; it has outstanding expertise in high aspect ratio lithography as well as in micro moulding techniques.

KIT operates his high sophisticated equipment under the Karlsruhe Nano and Micro Facility (KNMF) which was established with the aim to give other research groups the access to the outstanding micro technology equipment and competences at KIT.
